Wow, talk about timing. Idina Menzel, who won the Tony for Best Actress for her spectacular performance in Wicked, injured herself in a matinee performance on January 8, one day before what was to be her final performance on January 9.

She was taken to hospital, but has been released with broken ribs.

I saw Idina and Kristin Chenoweth in April 2004, my daughter Myrna saw them in March, and my husband and youngest daughter saw Idina in August. This is a great show that was robbed at the Tonys for best score.

The Toronto production begins and will star Stephanie Block as Elphaba. I saw Stephanie in The Boy from Oz where she played Liza Minelli, and she was AMAZING...check out the video clips on The Boy from Oz Web site to get a little taste.
