Happy 18th Wedding Anniversary to Me

Wow, 18 years today...it's been the best 5 years of my life!

I got married on the hottest day in July in Kingston, Ontario, 18 years ago today. It's seems so long ago, yet so recent at the same time.

I remember everyone melting, literally melting, from the heat, but my adorable hubby and I didn't notice a thing...until we got back to our hotel to change for our honeymoon. At that point it suddenly dawned on us that my wedding dress and his tux were COMPLETELY SOAKED. I mean seriously, it was like we'd been swimming in our clothes!

Anyway, it was a beautiful wedding, with Don Nightingale as our MC, and all our friends and family out to wish us well, although privately many grumbled that we were WAAAAAAAY too young to get married and it would never last.

Well, we WERE way too young, but it's lasted just fine thank you very much, and my hubby and I love each other even more today than that wonderful day 18 years ago. Thanks honey!

The one thing I wish I could have preserved from that day is my first dance with my father. My father was a distinguished Hungarian gentleman who could really cut a rug in his day. We got up after my new husband and I had danced to Witchcraft and did a beautiful waltz around the room. My Dad passed away 12 years ago, but how I wish I could dance with him again...
